The Word of God
We believe all scripture was given by the inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16). We hold that the Authorized Version (King James Bible) is the preserved, perfect Word of God in the English language (Psalm 12:6-7). We consider God's Word to be the authority for all things in our life. (Psalms 119:128)
We believe salvation is a gift of God, received by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Based on Romans 10:9, the means for receiving the gift of eternal life is by accepting Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Savior, and by believing the gospel of Jesus Christ: He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day proving He is God. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4)
We believe in eternal security for believers in the age of grace - that after receiving Jesus Christ as one's personal Lord and Savior, the believer is sealed by the Holy Spirit of God (Ephesians 1:13-14) and cannot lose his or her salvation (Romans 8:38-39; 2 Timothy 2:11-13).
We believe the Christian has the ability to communicate directly to the Lord God without any human mediator (1Timothy 2:5). It is through prayer with thanksgiving that the believer reveals his or her faith and trust in God (Philippians 4:6)
The Holy Trinity
We believe that the Godhead is made up of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. (2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7)
The Local Church
We believe the local church is God's instrument in this age to build each member's personal relationship with Christ, to equip believers in the ministry of reconciliation, and to edify the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). We believe each local church is autonomous, self-governing, and self-supporting.
Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe water baptism is an opportunity for the believer to give a public testimony of his or her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, being an illustration of the gospel that he or she already received (Acts 16:32-33).
We believe the Lord's Supper is an opportunity for the believer to remember what the Lord did for him or her in sacrificing Himself on the cross for our sins, until His return. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) We do not believe that water baptism or the Lord's Supper have saving or sanctifying power, or that either is a requirement for local church membership.
We believe every Christian is a steward of what the Lord has entrusted to him or her. Every believer determines before God how much he or she gives for the work of the ministry through their personal offerings (2 Corinthians 9:7).
We believe every believer has the responsibility to minister the truth of the gospel of grace to those that do not know the Lord Jesus Christ nor understand his call to glory (Romans 10:14-15; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; 2 Corinthians 3:5-6; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14).
Judgment for Believers
We believe that after the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His Body (the church in the age of grace), every Christian will give an account before God at the Judgment Seat of Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10-12) We will be judged for our works and receive reward or suffer loss accordingly. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
