To strengthen each member's relationship with the Lord so they can minister the gospel of grace to others, thereby edifying the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16)
The Bible describes the church as God's building (1 Corinthians 3:9, Ephesians 2:20-22), which is still under construction. So when you visit this local construction site, where He is working on these members in particular, don't be surprised if you see some unfinished work. We are real people, with real problems, just like you. We don’t gloss over these issues or pretend we have life completely figured out. We go to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God, for the real answers we need.
We understand that each one of us is God's work in progress (Philippians 1:6). So we support one another in our desire to grow in faith and to live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ. God is teaching us to love one another with grace, truth, humility, patience and meekness.
As active participants in God's building process, we understand we must build with His materials (1 Corinthians 3:10-15). So we value real, personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. We do not ask anyone to put their faith in our church, or our traditions, or our pastor. Our hope is that each member will learn to walk by faith in full persuasion of the truth of God's Word.
Life is complicated enough. So we keep things simple. We have one service on Sunday and one service on Wednesday.
Each service has a simple format:
- Praise – hymns and spiritual songs
- Preaching – a simple focus in each lesson
- Prayer – for one another and for others
- Families worship together on Sundays
- Wednesday nights feature Bible study and prayer
- Our Ladies Bible Study meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month
The focus of our services is to:
- Learn God’s Word
- Live it every day
- Share it with others
We use a classroom setup with varied seating options (sorry, no pews) so we can take notes in our open Bibles, while even enjoying a cup of coffee!
Our pastor uses a whiteboard as he teaches to provide visual aids for the learning process. There are often handouts provided for further detail and additional study on your own time.
No matter where we are studying in the Bible, we try to draw the focus back to how we can apply it to our lives today. The core lessons challenge us to live the truth and share it in the situations we encounter every day, such as in the workplace and in our relationships.
